Reprotec Small Schools 7-a-side

Only four teams were at Sutton Lawn to contest the Notts Schools’ FA Small Schools 7-a-side title. The teams played each other in a league of four with the winning team going on to represent Nottinghamshire in the Midland Regional Finals next March.

Last season’s champions, Linby cum Papplewick, opened the defence of their title with a resounding 4-0 win over Hollywell from Eastwood. In the other first round game Keyworth recorded a narrow 2-1 win over Misson from the Bassetlaw area.

Linby certainly had their shooting boots on, registering a second victory, 3-0 against Keyworth whilst Hollywell also found the back of the net on three occasions, beating Misson 3-1.

Following a 1-1 draw between Keyworth and Hollywell in the first match of the final round of games, Linby knew they were already Champions but still went on to rattle in six without reply against the unfortunate Misson squad to lift the title in style.

Hollywell squeezed into the runners-up spot thanks to one more goal scored than Keyworth with both teams having an identical goal difference. The teams were presented with their mementoes by Bob Young, Chairman of Nottinghamshire Schools’ FA.
