Reprotec Inter District 7-a-side

There were only three Local Association representative sides present to contest the Nottinghamshire Schools’ FA Inter District 7-a-side Reprotec County Cup – Eastwood & District and an ‘A’ and a ‘B’ side from Nottingham.

This meant three games with the teams playing in a round robin format. Eastwood took on the Nottingham ‘B’ side in the first game which proved to be the most exciting of the morning with the lead changing hands several times before ending up as a 3-3 draw.

In the second game, Nottingham ‘A’ were too strong for their ‘B’ team running out 5-1 winners. Eastwood needed to avoid losing by four goals or more to secure the runners up spot and for a lengthy period in the first half led by a single goal but the overall strength of the Nottingham ‘A’ side proved too much in the end with Eastwood conceding their fifth goal almost on the stroke of full time to also lose 5-1.

This left Nottingham ‘A’ as the clear winners of the tournament with Nottingham ‘B’ and Eastwood finishing on the same points with an identical goal difference. The winners medals and County 7-a-side Shield were presented to the City ‘A’ team by Bob Young, Chairman of Nottinghamshire Schools’ FA with runners up medals going to both Eastwood and Nottingham ‘B’.

Nottingham ‘A’ will now go on to represent Nottinghamshire in the Midland Regional Finals in Nottingham in March or April next year.
