Reprotec Inter District 7-a-side

Eastwood 4 v 2 Nottingham

Sadly, compared to the five involved last season, there were only two Primary District representative sides this campaign to compete for the chance of becoming the Reprotec County Inter District 7-a-side Champions.

Nevertheless, Eastwood and Nottingham produced a morning of excellent, skilful football sharing four goals during an end to end first half before Eastwood’s strength up front began to tell during the second half as they took advantage of the wind at their backs.

A brace of goals from Dajaune Brown in the first period with Luca Vagary and Noah Bahtia equalising twice for the City in a keenly contested opening period saw the teams reach half time on level terms. The Nottingham keeper, Jake Harper made some outstanding saves, particularly in the first half when Eastwood could easily have taken a decisive lead had he not been so alert and athletic.

The contest was no less keen in the second half but Eastwood just had the edge in their finishing, with Mitchell Hill matching Brown's brace of the first half scoring two goals of his own, to take the title and progress to the Regional Tournament to be held in March/April 2017.

Both sides were presented with their mementoes by Bob Young, Chairman of Nottinghamshire Schools’ FA.
